What is a Parishioner?
A Parish is a group of catholic people in a certain geographical area. St. Matthew parish includes the areas of Conshohocken, parts of Barren Hill and Lafayette Hill, and parts of Plymouth Township. Boundaries are not restricted as they once were in the church. All are welcome here.
When joining a parish, we become part of a family that support each other through the stewardship of time, talent and treasure. A family’s strengths and weaknesses are a sum of it’s parts. Each one of us is valuable and needed. We share in sacramental life, educational programs and various ministries, all of which allows us to grow in grace.
The Eucharist is the heart of the parish and can only grow and be effective when the Celebration of the Mass is the center and focal point of the parish.
We welcome all that come to register in St. Matthew Parish. We want you to know that we will be there for you to meet your spiritual and temporal needs. We therefore expect that you will be present to us as a fully participating member of our parish family.
Members of the church are expected to be practicing catholics in good standing. The same would be true of parents who are presenting their children for the Sacraments. There must be well founded expectations that the children will be raised in the catholic faith.
Those seeking Sacraments for themselves, their children or to be Sponsors for a Sacrament at another parish should be active parishioners of St. Matthew. Guidelines for being an active parishioner are as follows.
1. You must first be registered in St. Matthew Parish
2. You must be a participant in Sunday and Holyday Liturgies
3. Your contributions should be verifiable. We ask that you use the Offertory envelopes because cash contributions cannot be verifiable.
If you wish to register with us, kindly fill in the Registration Form below, email it back to us, and someone will contact you for an appointment. We most sincerely welcome you into our St. Matthew Parish family.
